Dogs and Puppies

Adoption Information
Adoption Fees: $450 – $550 (unless otherwise posted on their bio)
Updated April 18, 2026

Adoption fees vary depending on the dog and reflect the significant costs associated with veterinary care, food, and supplies while each dog is in our care. These fees allow us to continue providing proper medical treatment and support to all animals in the rescue.
Application Process

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are not able to respond to every applicant. Only those selected to move forward will be contacted.
Please note that our process is not first come, first served. Each dog is placed in the home that is the best fit for their individual needs. We appreciate your understanding and ask that all communication remains respectful. If a particular dog is not the right match, we encourage you to consider the many other dogs in rescues and shelters across Ontario who are also in need of homes.
What to Expect
Many of our dogs come into care as strays or with limited background information. While we do our best to assess each dog’s temperament, health, and behaviour in foster care, we cannot guarantee breed, age, health, or temperament.
Our goal is always to be as transparent as possible and to ensure each dog is placed in a home where they will succeed. No one wants to have a dog returned.
Veterinary Care
Most dogs 6 months of age and older are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are also vaccinated with age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, given flea/tick/heartworm prevention, vet checked, and will go home with their veterinary records.
Puppies under 6 months of age will receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and a full vet check. They will also go home with their veterinary records and pet insurance.
For puppies not yet spayed or neutered at the time of adoption, the adoption contract will outline the required timeline for the procedure. The adopter is responsible for completing this, and our team will follow up to confirm the appointment. - Unless otherwise discussed with the adoption team prior to the adoption.
Adjustment Period
Please remember that adoption is a transition. Dogs and puppies will need time to adjust to their new environment. It is normal for them to display some unwanted behaviours initially as they settle in and learn their new routine.

We ask that adopters approach this period with patience, consistency, and realistic expectations. Dogs do not arrive “perfect”. With time and guidance, they become wonderful companions.
